Theme, Initiative, Epic, Story -- Atlassian

  • Themes are large focus areas that span the organization.
  • Initiatives are collections of epics that drive toward a common goal.
  • Epics are large bodies of work that can be broken down into a number of smaller tasks (called stories).
  • Stories, also called “user stories,” are short requirements or requests written from the perspective of an end user.

VUCA World - Wikipedia

VUCA stands for Volatility, Unpredictability, Complexity, and Ambiguity. All self evident.

  • V = Volatility. The nature and dynamics of change, and the nature and speed of change forces and change catalysts.
  • U = Uncertainty. The lack of predictability, the prospects for surprise, and the sense of awareness and understanding of issues and events.
  • C = Complexity. The multiplex of forces, the confounding of issues, no cause-and-effect chain and confusion that surrounds organization.
  • A = Ambiguity. The haziness of reality, the potential for misreads, and the mixed meanings of conditions; cause-and-effect confusion.

If we already have automation, what's the need for Agents?

“Automation” and “agent” sound similar — but they solve very different classes of problems. Automation = Fixed Instruction → Fixed Outcome ...
